Frequently Asked Questions

Zondex is an internet-wide IoT and services search engine. We continuously scan the public internet and index over 34 million services, including open ports, service banners, SSL/TLS certificates, HTTP headers, operating system fingerprints, CVE associations, geolocation data, and technology stacks. Our data empowers security researchers, penetration testers, and network analysts.

Our AI search uses Google Gemini Flash to translate natural language queries into structured Zondex dork syntax. For example, typing "find all RDP servers in China with default credentials" is automatically converted into the appropriate filter query. AI search is available on Pro and Enterprise plans and helps users who are not familiar with dork syntax get results instantly.

Our scan data is updated continuously. Critical ports such as 22, 80, 443, and 3389 are rescanned daily. Most other services are rescanned on a weekly cycle. Each result in the search index includes a last_seen timestamp so you can see exactly when a host was last observed. Enterprise customers can request on-demand rescans via the API.

The Zondex REST API is available to Pro and Enterprise subscribers. After subscribing, an API key will be generated in your account profile page. The API supports all search filters available in the web interface and returns results as JSON. Full API documentation will be published at zondex.io/api/docs/ upon launch. Rate limits apply based on your plan tier.
